On the morning of March 20th, students will register and mount their projects.

Afterwards there will be visit of the campus, an ice breaker with scientific and fun activities. The science fair will be held on March 21 and in the morning of March 22. In the afternoon of March 22, there will be a variety of activities for the students and their chaperons. The day will conclude with a banquet and award ceremony. A complete schedule will be available later this fall.

10:00 am to 12 pm Welcoming of participants, registration and set-up at the complexe sportif Oriel-Riopel sports facility, 675, 1re avenue, Val-d’Or

12:30 pm Lunch

1:30 to 3:45 pm Ice-breaker activities and scientific workshops

4:00 to 5:00 pm Leisure swim for participants, at the complexe sportif pool

5:00 pm Free time

Wednesday, March 21

8:00 to 8:45 am Welcoming of participants, judges, and guests at the complexe sportif

9:00 am Opening ceremony for the 2018 edition with participants, dignitaries, Event Ambassador SAMIAN and Aboriginal drummers

9:30 am – 12 :30 Exhibit starts – Project evaluation and visits from regional school groups

12:30 pm Lunch

1:30 – 4:30 pm Exhibit viewing – Project evaluation and visits from regional school groups

4:00 pm Activities end, free time

Thursday, March 22

8:00 to 9:00 am Welcome participants to the sports facility

9:00 am Exhibit viewing – Last viewing of displays by judges and public

12:15 pm Display viewing ends, dismounting of project stands and lunch

Time to be confirmed Optional activity for youth: Take part in the Gabriel Commanda Walk organized by the Val-d’Or Native Friendship Centre, as part of the Week for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

4:45 pm Welcome participants, judges and guests to the First Peoples Pavilion Multipurpose Room.

5:00 pm Science Fair closing ceremony: banquet, talk by Algonquin performer SAMIAN, presentation of awards, and a few surprises!

8:30 pm End of the 2018 Quebec Aboriginal Science Fair

8 :00 am Breakfast of the winning teams of the Canada Wide Science Fair with Martine Couture, Regional Coordinator Aboriginal Quebec Autochtone and Marc Lalande, President-treasurer of QASEA
